The Chattanooga Symphony Opera is the nation's first combined professional resident symphony and opera company, merging in 1985. Led by Music Director and Conductor Kayoko Dan, the CSO has an annual budget of about $2.5 million and performs at various well-known venues throughout the Greater Chattanooga Area, as well as at schools and community events. The CSO inspires, engages, and enriches the greater Chattanooga community through music and music education.
The CSO collaborates with over 200 community partners each season, including schools, hospitals, libraries, and local celebrations. With a dedicated group of volunteers and a full-time administrative staff, the CSO strives to inspire, engage, and enrich the community through their performances and educational programs. They offer a diverse range of events, from masterworks and pops concerts to youth symphony performances and family-friendly shows.
