In 1971 Edwards Oil established South Tennessee Oil to market unbranded motor fuels. South Tennessee Oil began operating Quik Mart Convenience Stores in 1976. Through the 1980s and 1990s the Quik Mart chain expanded, from supplied accounts to salaried operations. Several supplied accounts were purchased and brought under the South Tennessee Oil umbrella. Bulk lubricant and packaging operations were also added. Edwards Oil and South Tennessee Oil serve more than 16 counties in south central Tennessee and northwestern Alabama with Shell and Citgo gasoline products. The companies operate more than 40 Quik Mart Convenience Stores and serve nearly 20 dealers.
