History
Aikido Martiat Arts School of Cleveland, TN got started in June 2010. A lot of folks are not familiar with Aikido. However, we are delighted to educate them and show them a traditional Japanese martial arts style. There are four different styles of martial arts mixed together to make the art of Aikido which is: Aiki Jujitsu, Karate, Judo and Jujitsu. This is a self-defensive martial art, exploiting one's opponent's moves against them, but we do incorporate offensive techniques.

Aikido was developed by Morihei Ueshiba. Aikido focuses not only punching and kicking opponents, but rather on using their own energy to gain control of them or to throw them away from you. What is important is a skilled Aikido practitioner to be skilled enough to redirect his attacker's energy while keeping them in a constant unbalance. Aikido is a self-defense training art.
