Founded in 1929 by Swiss immigrants, Valley Queen Cheese Factory, a family owned and operated commercial cheese-making operation, produces approximately 75 million pounds of cheese annually. The factory s products include aged cheddar, reduced fat cheddar, mild Colby, pepper jack, Colby jack, shredded cheddar and Monterey jack cheeses, as well as sweet cream, whey cream, lactose and delactosed whey. Valley Queen is an active member of the International Dairy Foods Association, National Association of Manufacturers, Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association, South Dakota Dairy Association, North Central Cheese Industries Association, South Dakota Family Business Initiative, South Dakota Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Grant County Development Corporation and the Milbank Chamber of Commerce. Valley Queen Cheese Factory has its corporate offices and manufacturing facility in Milbank, S.D.
