The State Credit Union originally served South Carolina state employees, but throughout the years membership has opened to include residents of select South Carolina areas and relatives of members -- to name a few. Being a nonprofit financial institution, all profits are reinvested to provide better rates and services for members. The bank also employees a regional community coordinator who manages local fund-raising involvement, such as a hunger drive and "Helping Hands." There's no membership fee to join. The Lexington branch offers drive-through banking and a 24-hour, drive-thru ATM.
