Pieces & Patches proprietor Audrey Liddle was taught to sew by her grandmother when she was just five years old, and she never looked back. Located on the top floor in Old Mill, her quilt, fabric and notions store preserves the traditional women's arts for current and forthcoming generations. Techniques are taught on-site, and newcomers have several options to get started: the Stitch & Twitter group meets Tuesdays, 10am to noon, and Wednesdays, 6pm to 8pm. Other classes are offered as well. Locals commission Liddle to create pieces for them. Trendy now are T-shirt quilts, which appeal to those with less traditional tastes.
