Michael A. Sugarman, Ph.D., ABPP is a clinical neuropsychologist and assistant professor within the Department of Neurology at MUSC. He earned his doctorate in clinical psychology from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI and completed internship and postdoctoral training at the VAMC in Bedford, MA, in conjunction with the Alzheimer's Disease Center at Boston University. He is board-certified in Clinical Neuropsychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology. Dr. Sugarman currently completes neuropsychological evaluations within the Department of Neurology for conditions including traumatic brain injury, stroke, or suspected dementia. In particular, his clinical efforts are focused on patients with epilepsy, including pre-surgical evaluations for refractory cases under consideration for resective procedures. He is available to see patients at Rutledge Tower and the East Cooper Medical Pavilion in Mt. Pleasant.
