History
My law practice started in 1973 in Columbia, SC. I moved to Myrtle Beach in 1977 and have been a lawyer here since then. I also am licensed to practice in North Carolina.
Specialties
We focus on client service above all. I am a business lawyer with 44 years experience in real estate, loan workouts, bankruptcy, estate planning, probate administration and litigation, elder law, environmental law, corporate law, foreclosures, and business planning, formation and litigation. I am not a certified specialist in any of these areas. I handle complex commercial real estate projects, as developer counsel, lender counsel, or as bankruptcy counsel. As debtor's counsel I have guided 3 large, complex chapter 11 bankruptcy cases to successful confirmation, each involving complicated real estate issues. I have worked on timesharing/fractional ownership projects and condominium hotel projects. I advise property owner associations. I also help individuals, families and small businesses with estate planning, probate administration and litigation, elder law, business planning and bankruptcy needs. I help clients in the LGBT community with their special needs and have spoken to various groups about issues important to the LGBT community. I help people start, expand and sell new businesses. My office is in Myrtle Beach, but I also help clients in North Myrtle Beach, Conway, Little River, Loris, Calabash, Carolina Shores, Carolina Forest, Pawleys Island, Georgetown, Litchfield Beach and Murrells Inlet, and in other parts of Horry County, Georgetown County, and Brunswick County.
