Irmo High School operates under the School District 5 of Lexington and Richland Counties. It offers classes from grades nine through 12 and enrolls more than 1,800 students every year. The school provides a wide range of educational programs in various subjects, including sociology, biology, chemistry, music, physics, mathematics and physical education. Irmo High School also provides a variety of services and facilities for students, such as scholarships, athletic events, debates and writing competitions and career counseling service. The school organizes several external visits and trips for students. School District 5 of Lexington and Richland Counties also operates other schools, including Ballentine Elementary School, Chapin Elementary School, Dutch Fork Middle School and Lake Murray Elementary School.
