Dr. Christopher Bunt is a family medicine physician at MUSC Health. A Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native, he attended the University of Michigan, where he ran track and cross country. He then earned his M.D. at Uniformed Services University (America's medical school) in Bethesda, Maryland. He completed his family medicine residency with the United States Air Force at Malcolm Grow Medical Center in Maryland. His USAF career took him to Nebraska, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Maryland, as well as overseas deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation New Dawn. Dr. Bunt also completed a faculty development fellowship at UNC-Chapel Hill and remains in the Air Force Reserve. As a family medicine physician, Dr. Bunt takes care of the entire family and is happy to see all patients for any issue. He has specific clinical interests in sports medicine, preventive medicine, and complementary and alternative medicine. He is also a licensed medical acupuncturist, working with patients with a traditional Chinese medicine meets Western medicine approach. Dr. Bunt's first professional love is education, and he focuses on undergraduate medical education at MUSC. He is the military medical advisor for the College of Medicine and the Co-Creator and Co-Founder of the MUSC Financial Success Mentoring program. His research interests include acupuncture, faculty development, clinical decision-making, and evidence-based medicine.
