Batesburg-Leesville Map
Batesburg-Leesville is a town in Lexington and Saluda counties in the U.S. state of South Carolina. The population was 5,517 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Columbia, South Carolina Metropolitan Statistical Area.
On February 13, 1946, Isaac Woodard an African American World War II veteran, was beaten and blinded as he passed through the town.
The town of Batesburg-Leesville was formed in 1992 by the merger of the towns of Batesburg and Leesville, South Carolina.
