Founded in 1970, Babcock Center is a private, nonprofit organization that serves individuals with mental disabilities, autism, head and spinal cord injury and related lifelong disabilities. It operates more than 100 facilities and employs over 1,200 people throughout the Midlands. Babcock Center provides residential and vocational support to nearly 800 people on a daily basis. It offers supported employment and center-based services that focus on the development of money management and social activities. The organization operates an industrial services division that provides vocational opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities through in-house contracts, industrial woodshop, mobile grounds maintenance, janitorial crews and competitive job placement. In addition, Babcock Center offers residential services for individuals through supervised living programs and community training homes.
