T. F. Green Airport is operated by Rhode Island Airport Corporation. Formed in 1992, Rhode Island Airport Corporation as a semiautonomous subsidiary of the Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation. The company, which is governed by a board of directors, operates and maintains the state s airport system. It is responsible for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of state-owned airports. It also supervises all of the state s civil airports, landing areas, navigation facilities, air schools and flying clubs. In addition to T. F. Green Airport, the Rhode Island Airport Corporation is responsible for the Block Island, Newport, North Central, Quonset and Westerly airports, which provide general aviation. T. F.
