Using her prior expertise in the fashion world, founder Barbara Waterston first published Providence Magazine in 1989 as a print magazine before making it an online publication, ProvidenceMagazine.org. During the 1960s and 1970s, Waterston served as a fashion reporter for the New York Herald Tribune and a freelance fashion photographer for Time, Mademoiselle and Vogue, among others.
The magazine is all about ethics, lifestyle and manners and celebrating Waterston's belief in pro-family feminism and love of art and fashion.
