History
Hearthside House is owned by the Town of Lincoln but is run entirely by volunteers of the Friends of Hearthside, a charitable nonprofit organization founded in 2001 which is responsible for the stewardship of the 200-year old house. Hearthside was a private residence until 1997 when the Town purchased it. The Friends organization has furnished it throughout with donated antiques and artifacts and hosts tours each month as well as special historically-themed events, with interpretive guides dressed in period attire. As a result, it is now an award-winning house museum and the centerpiece of the Great Road Historic District. Open March-December.
