Golfers at Rhode Island Country Club, fresh-water fishermen and passers-by share enjoyment of Echo Lake, a scenic pond north of Nayatt Point that abuts the golf course. The Barrington Land Conservation Trust says that more than 134 bird species, including Canada geese and swans, have been spotted on the lake and in its wetlands and woods. A historic herring run, one of the few remaining in Rhode Island, flows into the lake from a creek.
