The East Coast Greenway Alliance is a private, non-profit advocacy organization that promotes multi-modal use of a network of trails stretching 3,000 miles from Florida to Maine. The South Kingstown office is responsible for coordinating the efforts in the northeast. Often described as the urban sister to the Appalachian Trail, the East Coast Greenway is a series of off-road paths and trails designed to connect the entire East Coast by means of muscle-bound transportation. The path on the Greenway that is closest to South Kingstown is in Coventry.
