Big Sisters Fund Donation
Big Sisters of Rhode Island has been connecting at-risk girls with adult female mentors since 1966. The organization offers many programs to serve the needs of hundreds of Little Sisters around the state. In 2010, the organization expanded its mission to include at-risk boys. The organization strives to leave a positive impact on the children it serves, reducing their vulnerability and helping them to thrive emotionally, socially and academically. Along with partnering mentor adults and children, Big Sisters of Rhode Island teaches inner-city children to make good decisions, works with youth at the Rhode Island Training School, partners with incarcerated parents, and conducts conflict resolution workshops. The group also has an extensive outreach into the Latino community.
