The Department of Children, Youth and Families, also known as DCYF, is operated by Rhode Island Government. The department has child welfare, central management and children s behavioral health divisions. Founded in 1980, it offers adoption, child and foster care and juvenile services. The department also provides child protection and family services. In addition, the Department of Children, Youth and Families offers residential treatment and counseling, education and diagnostic assessment programs. It provides the Families Together Therapeutic Visitations program, which provides therapeutic services.
