The historic Admiral Dewey Inn, named for American Naval hero George Dewey, is truly the last of the Southern Rhode Island Beach Hotels. Built as a cottage in 1898, owner Joan Label purchased and remodeled the historic building in 1988, and celebrated the building's centennial 10 years later. Minutes from the beaches and a short ride from Narragansett shops, the Block Island ferry or Connecticut attractions, the Admiral Dewey Inn is ideally situated for a weekend getaway in the summer or winter. No children under ten are allowed, and room rates vary from $120 to $170 per night, and several share a bathroom. Discounts are available if guests call ahead.
