Volunteers of America Delaware Valley
Volunteers of America of Delaware Valley operates more than 40 programs and serves people who are experiencing homelessness, seeking permanent housing, struggling with addictive behavior, returning to society from the criminal justice system and dealing with domestic violence. It offers the Fletcher House, which is an 84-bed residential community release program for adult male offenders. The program addresses to treatment needs, such as problem solving, substance abuse prevention and job readiness. The organization also offers the Program for Returning Offenders with Mental Illness Safely and Effectively (PROMISE), which assists clients in finding employment, participating in treatment, linking with mental health services and discharge planning. Volunteers of America of Delaware Valley maintains a presence in Camden, N.J., and is a charter member of Volunteers of America, which is a national, nonprofit, faith-based organization that offers a variety of human service programs, including housing and health care. Founded in 1896, the parent organization serves more than 2 million people in over 400 communities.
