HistoryI became a photographer because of a disagreement between Walt Disney and ABC. When The Mickey Mouse Club was cancelled in September, 1959 I was inconsolable. To relieve my angst, my parents gave me a Kodak Brownie Hawkeye. A photographer was born. I grew up with Life, Look and National Geographic. I learned from the masters of photography. I studied Ansel Adams' series of books, Minor White's Zone System Manual and everything Kodak published. I learned about The Decisive Moment from Henri Cartier-Bresson. As master printmaker and darkroom manager for Allied Photo Industries I produced annual reports and marketing materials for Fortune 500 companies such as United States Steel (USS), Alcoa, Mellon Bank, PNC Bank, Gulf Oil, Koppers and Westinghouse. I covered news and events as a photojournalist for the Pittsburgh Press. Since 2008, I have concentrated on producing large format fine art photography on a variety of subjects.SpecialtiesIn the beginning, it is all about the light; in the end, it is all about the print.
