History
The story of Steamtown is that of a few good friends who wanted to be part of a church that resonated with their souls and spoke to the very core of their beings. They felt that such a church had the potential of reaching others who were not being reached by existing churches. In 2005, this small group began to dream, plan, and strategize. A launch date was set for the spring of 08 and the search for a temporary location began. After sharing space for a few months with Berean Church, Steamtown moved to the Red Carpet Inn on Mulberry Street in downtown Scranton on March 2nd, 2008. Since the launch, we have tried to be a church which is a community rather than an event. At present, Steamtown's House Chuches meet in living rooms throughout the greater Scranton area, while the church gathers coorporately on Sunday's at the Red Carpet Inn.
