The Kiski Township Volunteer Fire Department provides firefighting, search, rescue and hazardous material response services. It also offers vehicle extrication and emergency medical response services. Founded in 1947, the Kiski Township Volunteer Fire Department employs more than 40 volunteer firefighters and covers an area of more than 45 square miles. The fire department s apparatus includes a hydraulic rescue system and trash pump and tankers, brush equipment, spreaders, cutters, airbags, and fire and gas engines. Additionally, it organizes fundraisers through dinners, hoagie sales and Bingo games. The Kiski Township Volunteer Fire Department offers membership opportunities to teenagers between the ages of 14 and 18 through its junior fire department.
