St. Mary’s Villa for Children and Families provides a specialized residential program for youth who have demonstrated a history of truancy, emotional disturbance, family conflict and difficulties in the community. St. Mary’s Villa for Children and Families provides residential care to children and adolescents coming from a variety of environments, including a designated number of beds available for children and adolescents being discharged from psychiatric hospitals, but who are not able to be with their families or placed in a less restrictive level of care immediately. Some children may be introduced to classes outside of its on-site program – in local public schools. This type of placement is based on the individual’s needs and prior performance at St. Mary’s Villa. St. Mary’s Villa is developing a careers program to help its older students be prepared to enter the work force upon graduation.
