Saint Augustine Province in Pittsburgh, PA is a Capuchin Franciscan Province that has been serving the community for over 150 years. With a rich history rooted in faith, courage, and conviction, the Province was established by three Capuchin friars from Bavaria who came to the United States to serve German immigrants. Today, the Province continues to live out its mission of evangelization and outreach through various ministries, including a Padre Pio Prayer Center that provides housing for pregnant and parenting women in need, and a Cap Corps Volunteers program. The Province also offers formation programs for those interested in becoming friars and is dedicated to fostering a spirit of Franciscan spirituality.
Throughout its history, the Province has seen the dedication and service of over 1,230 men who have professed vows as Capuchins. These friars have worked tirelessly in the regions to which they were called, making a lasting impact on the communities they serve. The Province also mourns the loss of two of its members, Ryan Realbulto and Michael Greb, who have recently passed away.
