Bernard Meyer has a long history as a barber in Brookline – almost 57 years, to be exact. His small shop on Brookline Boulevard is a classic old-fashioned barbershop, with tin ceilings and red leather barber chairs. Meyer has added some personal touches: his impressive collection of extra-large model airplanes, built by hand, hangs from the ceiling, and a pipe-smoking Steeler-fan monkey keeps watch from the window. Meyer has some help in the shop now, but he still gets in occasionally to serve his longtime customers.
