This facility is a private club chapter of the Polish Army Veterans Association of America (PAVA), which was founded in 1921 following World War I for military veterans from Poland. This location on Knights Rd. is home to Post 12 of the national group as well as to Polanka Park, a banquet and picnic facility for rent to the public. Huge outdoor space with "real" bathrooms outside. Large stage with dance floor. Large enough for any type of event. Indoor space is a little dated looking but functional.

Friends of the Wissahickon

Friends of the Wissahickon is a nonprofit organization that works to preserve the Wissahickon Valley. The valley runs through West Mount Airy and is part of Fairmount Park. The group helps maintain trails throughout the valley, manages the growth of vegetation and generally tries to protect open space. It also sponsors educational programs and lectures. It is run, in part, by a 28-member Board of Directors which contains representatives from communities in the valley area.
