Community Behavioral Health
Community Behavioral Health, established in 1997 and located in Philadelphia, is a nonprofit corporation serving the city s Medicaid recipients. The corporation offers managed behavioral health services to the public sector. It consists of three major components that work together to help consumers receive mental health and drug and alcohol treatment services. The components comprise the office of mental health, the coordinating office for drug and alcohol abuse programs, and community behavioral health. The institution has come up with a variety of approaches to help persons with mental illness and addictions live successfully in the community. The services include peer support, housing, vocational training and employment, income maintenance, medical care and rehabilitation.
