Founded in 1848, Pennsylvania Medical Society is a professional member organization with more than 20,000 physicians, medical students and practice managers. It provides both members and patients information and a wealth of resources related to the practice of medicine in Pennsylvania. The medical society also represents physicians in public venues, including government, insurance companies and media. It provides various wellness programs that help people to improve health through exercise, weight loss, eating healthy foods, smoking cessation and other special services. Additionally, it provides medical economics and reimbursement advice for third party reimbursement issues, payment regulations, coding concerns and other medical policy issues. Pennsylvania Medical Society is a member of the Pennsylvania Medical Society Alliance and is located in Harrisburg, Pa.
