The Oncology Nursing Society is a professional organization of more than 33,000 registered nurses and other health care providers dedicated to excellence in patient care, education, research and administration in oncology nursing. Established in 1975, the organization includes more than 200 chapters and over 30 special interest groups. It provides information and education to nurses worldwide. The society plays an active role in advocacy activities at the local, state, national and international levels. Its members comprise staff nurses, advanced practice nurses, case managers, educators, researchers, and consultants and other health care professionals. The Oncology Nursing Society offers nurses in cancer care a full range of educational, clinical and inspirational publications, and is located in Pittsburgh.
