Old Zion Church in Brickerville, PA, has a rich history dating back to 1747 when a community of German Reformed farmers purchased land to build a church. The present brick building, constructed in 1813, features a hand-carved communion table crafted in 1743 and a restored wine glass pulpit.
Over the years, Old Zion Church has seen fluctuations in membership, with the congregation growing to 385 members in the late 19th century before dwindling to 34 members by 1906. Thanks to the efforts of the Men's Brotherhood of St. Luke's United Church of Christ, the building and grounds were restored, and an interdenominational board of directors was organized in 1958 to oversee the church's preservation and events.
