The Oakes Museum of Natural History is located in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania on the first two floors of Messiah University's Jordan Science Center.
Specialties
The Oakes Museum is a unique 10,000 square foot museum featuring more than 40,000 specimens, including a collection of Smithsonian quality African and North American mammals, bird eggs, fish, seashells, minerals, insects, and fossils. We offer educational programming for school field trips, interactive guided tours, homeschool programs, scout badge programs, and Saturday science programs for grades 3-5 and grades 6-8. The museum is also an interesting venue for birthday parties, rehearsal dinners, and business meetings.
