The Montgomery Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1892 and provides fire protection, emergency medical and rescue services. The department s technical rescue team is a specialized group of individuals trained to rescue people from various complex and dangerous situations. Its technical rescue team offers a variety of services, such as space, trench, rope, water, structural collapse, farm and industrial rescues. It operates Engine 13, Rescue 13, Ambulances 13 and Ambulance 113. Its ambulances are licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health as basic life support units. The ambulances are equipped with automatic external defibrillator units, extrication kit, water rescue vests, helmets, throw bags, cellular phones and firefighter rehabilitation supplies. The fire department is located in Montgomery, Pa.
