History
Founded in 1979, Mazzoni Center was Philadelphia's first AIDS service organization and the fourth oldest in the nation. Over the years we've grown to incorporate a broad range of services that support LGBT health and well-being. In 2003 we introduced primary medical care and in 2008 our practice moved to its current location at 809 Locust Street. Our goal is to provide quality and comprehensive health and wellness services in an LGBT-focused environment.
Specialties
Mazzoni Center Family and Community Medicine offers comprehensive primary health care services in a friendly and welcoming environment, with a state-of-the-art facility, and a particular focus on the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) individuals of all ages. We have expertise in: women's health care, trans* care, senior care, pediatrics, and HIV care. While we focus on LGBT individuals and those with barriers to care, we provide care for anyone regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or ability to pay. We accept all major private insurance providers, Medicaid, and Medicare, and offer sliding scale payment for the uninsured. Our interdisciplinary team approach includes holistically trained clinicians, a psychiatrist, case managers, mental health therapists, a nutritionist, and clinical pharmacists. We offer case management services to help patients navigate the practical, non-clinical aspects of care, providing assistance with insurance issues, referrals to specialists and other providers, as well as connections to mental and behavioral health counseling and legal services, and more. On Wednesdays from 5-7 p.m. we offer drop-in hours for youth (aged 14-24) where they can access free medical care and meet with a case manager. Our EMR/patient portal lets patients access their medical records, request appointments and prescription refills, and communicate with providers anytime, online, via computer or mobile device.
