Founded in 1929, Markham Elementary School provides a range of general academic programs to more than 350 students in kindergarten through grade five. Located in Pittsburgh, the school employs over 25 staff members, including a counselor, psychologist and custodian. Its curriculum includes language arts, math, vocal music, science, Spanish, English, and health and physical education. It also operates a parent-teacher association that conducts several fundraising events and programs. The school maintains a library and media center that stocks books and periodicals and provides links to search engines. Its facilities include a playground, fitness center, ball fields, and tennis and basketball courts. In addition, Markham Elementary School is a part of the Mt.
