History
Ligonier Valley Historical Society was founded in 1964 by the Ligonier Valley Women's Club. In 1966, LVHS was gifted Compass Inn Museum by the R.K. Mellon Foundation. In 1972, Compass Inn Museum opened to the public. The museum has expanded to include an authentically reconstructed cookhouse located on the original site, a barn which houses an 1830's stagecoach, a carpenter and blacksmith shop.
