Lawrence Crist, DO Lawrence Crist, DO is a thoracic surgeon with AHN Cardiovascular Institute. He has a special interest in minimally invasive surgery with a focus on benign and malignant diseases of the esophagus. Dr. Crist has a strong interest in minimally invasive treatment of lung cancer and other tumors in the chest. He went to medical school at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Upon completion of medical school, he did his residency at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, New Jersey. Dr. Crist did a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at AHN Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and a fellowship in minimally invasive thoracic surgery at UPMC in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dr. Crist is certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board Thoracic Surgery, and has been for over twenty years. He engages the patient thoroughly in the treatment process and encourages patient education so they can make the best decisions regarding treatment for themselves.
