HistoryChristopher initially worked for another company when he began to focus on curly hair. Through each curly client he began to see the need for a supportive environment focused solely on naturally curly hair. Christopher opened in a very small salon suite and quickly grew from one suite to three. Hiring a staff person to help take care of his clients, then a stylist to join his team. In 2018 he secured a new building in the heart of shadyside and began to renovate, opening in December of 2018. We use the Devacurl dry cutting technique paired with years of education. We are an upscale atelier (French for workshop) focusing our time as one on one client services. We pride ourselves in a comfortable and professional service relationship centered around your curly hair lifestyle. We specialize in thorough consultations to understand your lifestyle and what products you use. We work as an ongoing relationship to help you achieve long term results. We are a safe space, no judgement on which products, lifestyle, budget, health and hair challenges and curl type! All we do is curls. Wavy hair to tight kinky curls. We use an ammonia free hair color! (this is perfect for curly hair!) We love what we do! We truly work differently from traditional salon environments.
