History
Lansdale Presbyterian began with the church planting efforts of Rev. James Ransom in the spring of 1956. On October 21, 1956 the first service was held in a small church building at the corner of Wood Street and Derstine Avenue. By 1960, a new building was purchased at 30 West Mount Vernon Street. In 1962, Rev. John Clark became the Senior Pastor, a position he held until 1999. The church grew and property on Oak Park Road was purchased. The first worship service held was in February 1974. In June of 1999, Rev. Tom Keane became the next Senior Pastor and faithfully served LPC in a variety of roles until retiring in 2020. In November 2019, the congregation voted to call Rev. Chris Kennedy to be the fourth Lead Pastor. And, Rev. Brian Hand was called to the role of Church Life Pastor. Since the beginning, we remain committed to the Scriptures and bring the gospel of Christ to all people.
