The Language & Cognition Lab at the University of Pennsylvania conducts research on the nature, acquisition, and processing of linguistic meaning, as well as the interaction between meaning and context in human learning and communication. Their interdisciplinary team utilizes various experimental methods to study language across different communities, including conducting experiments in local daycares, museums, and international sites.
With funding from prestigious organizations such as the National Institutes of Health and the National Science Foundation, the lab is part of the Department of Linguistics at the University of Pennsylvania and actively collaborates with other Penn groups focused on the sciences of the mind, integrated language sciences and technology, social and cultural evolution, and child development. Led by Professor Anna Papafragou, the Language & Cognition Lab is dedicated to unraveling the complexities of language and its relationship with other cognitive systems in both children and adults.
