Keystone Theatre was built in the 1880 s and known as Hale's Opera House in 1886. Movies soon took over live performances and became the main entertainment medium at the Keystone Theatre. The theatre was restored in 1988 by the Bradford County Regional Arts Council, a regional nonprofit organization. Live events such as Weekend and School Time Youth series, Nightlife on the Susquehanna series are presented at the theatre with the help of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, Pennsylvania Performing Arts on Tour, regional sponsors and the Central Bradford County United Way. The BCRAC sponsors events like the Missoula Children's Theatre Residency and regional performers like the Wyalusing Swing Choir and Winding River perform at the theatre. First-run movies are still played on open nights. Keystone Theatre is located in Towanda, Pa.
