Addictive Behaviors Services Treatment services from this division include drug and alcohol counseling, methadone maintenance treatment, co-occurring disorders and specialized services for teenagers and first-time offenders. Specially trained to treat the complexities of co-occurring disorders, addictive behaviors staff combine on site day and evening treatment with linkages to housing, training, employment, recreation services, and self-help support groups. We encourage participants to reverse the destructive patterns substance abuse can engender and to enjoy the opportunities a drug and alcohol-free lifestyle offers. Residential and Alternative Services This division offers services specifically designed for the seriously mentally ill. Many of these individuals have spent a significant amount of time in state institutions, struggle with drug and alcohol dependency, have multiple physical problems and have previously displayed violent behaviors. They have little or no social support, but seek new opportunities and better quality of life. Often, new residences act as the foundation from which a fresh, stable start can be built. Emergency Services This division offers community members a continuum of emergency and crisis intervention services. Access is immediate for many individuals and families, and occurs in the least restrictive setting possible. Professional staff trained in a variety of disciplines provides complete evaluations and recommendations for treatment. Services include the JFK Mobile Emergency Team, Central Intake / Crisis Intervention, Crisis Specialist and Outreach to the Homeless. The JFK Mobile Emergency Team is accessed through the City of Philadelphia's delegate line at 215 685 6440. Crisis intervention at any location is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. An outgrowth of the JFK Mobile Emergency Team is the Crisis Specialist Program. Crisis Specialist professionals meet the consumer at his or her location, stay to stabilize the situation and determine if further care is needed. This service is also available through the same delegate line as the JFK Mobile Emergency Team. Central Intake / Crisis Intervention provides a central access point to help reduce the use of psychiatric hospitalization and connect people to services with the least disruption possible to their everyday lives. Outreach to the homeless is ongoing and takes place in various areas of the city as the need arises. Short-Term Care & Specialized Services This division provides outpatient therapies to adults and children living in Center City and North Philadelphia at JFK and at the JFK bilingual and bicultural center. Hours are flexible. Locations are accessible by public transportation. The goal of this division is to provide high quality treatment that can be maximally effective in a short period of time. Treatment goals and frequency of service are choices in which the consumer actively participates. We build on strengths, reduce or stabilize psychiatric symptoms, develop or enhance social support systems and provide tools for lessening the impact of daily stress on individual's well being. Referral to other community individual's support systems, more intense treatment services or alternative care is available to everyone.
