BiographyFounded in 1976, the Hanover String Quartet was formed by four classically trained musicians to further their enjoyment and promote chamber music to a wider audience.Being all accomplished professional musicians, members of the Quartet have appeared with notable artists such as Robert Goulet, Shirley Jones, Ella Fitzgerald, Mel Torme, the late Liberace, Johnnie Mathis, Englebert Humperdink, Dionne Warwick, Richard Harris, Natale Cole, Bernadette Peters, John Davidson, Tony Bennett, Tom Jones, Maureen McGovern, and many others.When not appearing as a Quartet, they have been kept busy playing for other musical organizations such as the Harrisburg and York Symphonies, Dickinson, Gettysburg, Western Maryland, and Shippensburg College Orchestras, Frederick Musicata, Hershey Arena Orchestra and a variety of other ensembles in the South Central Pennsylvania and Northern Marlyand areas.They provide music for weddings, receptions, social functions both corporate and private, bank and store grand openings, art festivals, galas and seasonal parties, dinner parties, anniversary, birthday, class reunions, or any occasion that needs a special touch that only string music can bring. The repertoire ranges from light classical to easy listening - from Bach to the Beatles, Mozart to Mancini, and of course many seasonal favorites.
