Weatherly Ambulance is a strictly Non-Profit Volunteer Organization. We have approximately 40 members whom volunteer their time to help others in time of need. Our volunteers range in age from 16 to over 50. We are located in downtown Weatherly behind Patti's Gas Station and future Restaurant. Weatherly Ambulance has been in operation since1977. Our ambulance was first housed in the station of Citizens' Fire Co. #1 in Weatherly on Hudsondale Street. The ambulance station was built in 1988 and dedicated to John K. Schafer, whom lived in Weatherly and was former commander of the Pennsylvania State Police. In November of 1999 work began on the extension of our building and is complete, it can house the 2 ambulances in the new bay. This new bay is the work of the Zawada Bros. Construction Company. Most of our members are EMT's. Most places that we talk to have a hard time trying to get people to take better courses to better their training. We don't seem to have that problem because we work together and help each other in every way possible. We also teach the younger members coming in so that they can be of more help when running on calls.
