Just south of the Penn State-Lehigh Valley campus off Center Valley Parkway, is Friedans Evangelical Lutheran Church. The structure was built in 1839. It reopened in 1993 and currently offers Sunday School and Sunday services as well as a Wednesday morning Bible study. A memorial plaque outside of the church lists all members who served in World War I and a 1903 McShane church bell is located on the west side of the church.
