In 1912, Ciraco Verdelli and his family left Italy to start a fresh life in the United States. The family worked at quarries and on vegetable farms for the next 12 years. When the owner of the farm gave up the business, the Verdellis leased 60 acres, and with just one horse, began what would become Verdelli Farms. The farm offers fresh retail and institutional fruits and vegetables. Verdelli Farms offers produce such as apples, broccoli, peppers, spinach, melons and zucchini. Located in Harrisburg, Pa., Verdelli Farms also offers dips and trays. In its third generation of family ownership, Verdelli Farms was founded in 1924.
