Francisvale Home for Smaller Animals provides shelter and care for homeless cats and dogs. This nonprofit, no-kill shelter is dedicated to finding stable and loving homes for these animals. Francisvale was started in 1897, when its original founders took in a stray puppy, who they named Francis, and determined to help stray animals in the region. Today. Francisvale covers 16 acres and provides animals with medical treatment and, ultimately, permanent homes. Francisvale also owns and operates a pet cemetery. Volunteers and donations always are welcome, as are prospective adopting families.
