I am a board-certified trauma and acute care surgeon and surgical intensivist. I received a BS in both Biomedical Engineering (in Artificial Organs and Medical Device Design) and Biologic Sciences from the University of Pittsburgh in 2009. I attained my medical degree from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2013 and completed my General Surgery residency training at the UPMC PinnacleHealth in Harrisburg, PA in 2018. I served as chief surgical resident from 2016-2018. Following residency, I underwent an additional one-year specialty training fellowship in Surgical Critical Care at Ohio State Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, OH before joining the Trauma and Acute Care Surgery division at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health. As a trauma and acute care surgeon, I enjoy helping our patients and their families overcome acute illnesses and begin on the road to recovery. I treat every patient as a partner as we work together to get home safely and prevent further trauma. In addition to my clinical duties, I am a resident trainer for general surgery residents from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM). I am also the director of trauma and acute care surgery informatics and analytics and an EPIC Physician Builder. My research interests include geriatric and homeless trauma, quality improvement in trauma surgery and sedation/delirium in surgical critical care. I serve on several hospital committees dedicated to patient safety and information technology.
