Limerick Fire Department

Since 1921, the men and women of the Limerick Fire Department have safeguarded the lives and property of the township's residents, even as the township itself has expanded from an agricultural hamlet to a densely populated bedroom community within the wider Philadelphia metropolitan area. Thirty-five active volunteer firefighters and five active firefighting apparatus make up the department today. As in most volunteer fire companies, Limerick Fire relies heavily on memberships and community donations for its funding. Fundraisers, such as Texas Hold `Em poker nights and an annual Christmas tree sale, have proven popular with the community.

Hancock Fire Co

Since 1895, the Hancock Fire Company has been serving the residents of Norristown. The company has both staff firefighters and volunteers. The building was demolished and renovated in 2003, the renovations making it more energy efficient. The crew at the Hancock Fire Company assists the police department, EMS and other organizations as well.

Ridge Fire Co

Ridge Fire Company serves more than 9,000 people in the communities of East Coventry, South Coventry, East Vincent, Warwick and West Vincent in Pennsylvania. It covers an area of more than 30 square miles and is located in Spring City, Pa. The company offers fire protection services and organizes station tours for scout groups and day care centers. Ridge Fire Company conducts fire prevention classes for schoolchildren and provides reflective address markers. It also organizes station equipment auctions and maintains halls that each accommodates more than 200 people for private and social gatherings. The company also has a volunteer group that offers assistance during rescue operations. Ridge Fire Company additionally conducts a smoke detection program for low-income families.
